In an effort to regain growth speed lost at the Texas Fly Caster YouTube Channel, the news today is that there is going to be a NEW separate video channel spun off from the original Texas Fly Fishing Channel and it will be your new go-to place for videos about The Wholistic Fly Fisher©. There really was no choice but to split the baby – because in my infinite lack of wisdom, I have thoroughly confused the YouTube machine with content they cannot relate together on one channel alone. The YouTube algorithm (machine) took exponential steps last year to comprehend what people were uploading in their videos, and it should be no surprise to you that AI is the root of those steps to comprehend videos that get uploaded. In short (seconds), it watches the video, listens to the audio, looks for violations, tries to align it with the category a channel occupies (fly fishing for instance) and finally starts a prefabricated PUSH to the people it thinks would watch that video. So there’s the rub.

NEW CONTENT BLAST

I have been coming up with some new topics for our wholistic fly fishing life, and have had to have some help from Chet GyPT to get those ideas down “on paper” as the ancestors used to say. According to plans, I will be rolling out new stories and videos almost all at once, and with a shotgun-style blast (for the algorithm). New topics include, “Cortisol and controlling it” with fly fishing, more about home remedies that may be growing in your back yard, muscle wasting as we age and how to slow and reverse that aging problem, and I am sure there are more topics that will show themselves during my late nights of research into the Wholistic Fly Fisher topics and trends.

DIALING DOWN

For better, or worse, the inventory of Wholistic videos on the Texas Fly Caster Channel will have to have their status changed to “unlisted” in order for the YouTube machine to find its own singularity. I do NOT think that will result in broken links to videos here on the site, and all the articles will remain for your research and debates. Eventually, I may be able to pull those videos into the new The Wholistic Fly Fisher YouTube Channel. Now that there will be separation, you can expect an even more open, frank and debatable series of videos about US MEN who fly fish – on the new Channel!

BELT TIGHTENING

Whether the wholistic series causes the happiness of a tightening belt or not, the economy certainly is having that effect. Gas has become a luxury item, and with a natural V8 under my hood, the cost of doing distant fly fishing stories is skyrocketing now, and I MEAN RIGHT NOW. The reasons are obvious, aren’t they? But I have come so far, so many years with the slightest of hints at politics, mostly related to stupid environmental decisions we are seeing, that this is no time and there is no time HERE for that topic. I must say, this economy could not have come at a WORSE time for the USA and (for now) I still include myself in the USA. It has been made obvious to me, I will not be traveling as far for Texas Fly Caster stories until major changes come from on high. And this is the first time in almost twenty years that I have had to release some good stories without even catching them. Maybe you can tell us a story, or two this spring and summer? GO! FIND SOME FISH!
