This is a one piece fly rod that has that famous Hardy feel to it. The only pre-existing condition it has is a little divot of cork missing in the handle (see the photo). I would recommend this rod for someone wanting a deeper curve rod and NOT for saltwater or carp fly fishing. It has a spine, but it is not a heavy lifting or big fly throwing rod.

I think it would be a very good river smallmouth or large trout float rod.
